Most Reliable Best Video Drones Under 1000

The "feature" that impressed me literally right out of the box was the honest way this company asked for feedback, review, or offered assistance. There was no outward gimmick to entice you into writing a positive review. When a vendor does that you can just about guarantee the product is not going to be impressive. And true to form, this drone IS impressive and works very well, the setup was a breeze, pairing it was simple, the drone itself can take a nasty spill or three and keep working like new. They did not beg for a review and they did not offer a free prize for a review because they do not need to. The drone is worth every penny. You cannot beat the price.
One small thing, it is a bit of a stretch saying this is for a beginner, but i do not say that as a negative, the craft is advanced enough to do quite a lot of droning beyond the beginner level. I could DRONE on about it for ever, but i will leave it at that. With my funny joke, ummm yea well, the drone is better than my joke! I promise!

Exactly what I was looking for.. it’s very durable , has been in nearly daily use for a month.. taking lots of crashes, and holding up very well ..
fun and easy to operate!! Soon he will be able to move up to more extensive models thanks to this drone.. perfect intermediate level for kids.
Decent picture Quality at this price and also works well with his Samsung galaxy.
My son has gotten hours of playtime in a day.. the battery recharges quickly.

I had one of the early DJI Phantom drones that was a pretty awesome machine but this little Sanrock which costs a fraction of the DJI has better wifi and a very adequate camera and frankly, it’s a bit hard to believe it has this much technology for such a great price. It doesn’t have GPS hold or things like that but it’s pretty simple to fly and control regardless. Just stay out of the wind because it’s light enough not to need FAA registration. And remember, the higher you fly it, the more likely the wind will be stronger. I’ve not tested the limits yet and will probably stay pretty conservative in flying it so not to lose it.

Holy Stone has put out an excellent beginner quadcopter in the HS110D.
We have another Holy Stone quadcopters and this one seems easier to operate.
I took it out for the first time today and the experience was great so I was excited to share my views right away. (see video)
The controller is easy to operate without taking your eyes off the quad. The display is very informative and clear so with a quick glance you know which of the 4 speed modes you are in, whether or not you are taking video.
Your smartphone easy fits in the controller. I own an LG G4 and I had no problems.
Four AA batteries are required and not included, but they are easy to insert with no need for a screwdriver.
The battery: The HS110D only comes with one battery and is good for 10-15 minutes.
As a newbie, you need a a wide-open space with grass or some other soft surface. It doesn't handle wind very well, so be careful. This is expected as it is a smaller drone.
Make sure you snap the guards ALL the way in. It also includes two extra guards as well as a replacement for each propellor and replacement landing gear. The addition of landing gear to this design makes safe landings much easier than other quadcopters that have no landing gear.
The card is easily removable, and Holy Stone included an adapter to plug it into your computer for transferring your videos to your computer.
Customer service: My boyfriend had to contact Holy Stone for help with his first quad, but I can say their customer service is exceptional. They will go above and beyond to help you with any problems to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
The only negatives to the HS110D: A second battery would be nice to have and watch out for wind!

The HS110D is an amazing camera drone. The app is completely different than the one I have for my other drone (HS160). It is so much better. The app for the HS110D is very clean an refined. Not to mention that there is a fairly accurate battery indicator inside of the app. When you are flying during the daytime and can’t see the lights on the drone, you will know when you have low battery. There is also a flip mode which is pretty cool for doing tricks, but seeing as this is mainly a camera drone I don’t see myself using that feature too much. The flip mode also serves a useful purpose as well as just for entertainment. Because the drone will not do flips when it is low battery, if you want to know when the drone is low battery you can just attempt a flip and the drone will not do it. The actual drone itself is pretty big, especially in comparison to some of the other Holy Stone drones that I own. It has three speed settings which is very useful because once you start flying the drone farther and farther away from you, it is difficult to determine the speed of the wind where the drone is. With multiple speed modes you can easily just kick up the speed to three and fight through the wind. The drone is strong enough that it will not be swept by the wind if you have it going fast enough. The camera on this drone (720p) is also really cool. I like the fact that it has the option to use the app and save the videos and photos directly to your phone, or save them to the included 4GB TF/microSD card. This is really useful since the drone app functions via wifi so since the wifi range is shorter than the transmitter range, you can fly it farther than the wifi and still capture excellent videos. The drone is also very stable. I really like the way it hovers in place. This is really useful because sometimes trying to take a shot of your family or something in front of a overlook is difficult. I’ve found that I can just fly the drone up a few feet and it will stay in place. Then, I just put the remote down as it takes the picture. The large indicator lights on the bottom are very useful, since they tell you multiple things. They tell you if the drone is connected to the transmitter, if the drone is on low battery, if the drone is in headless mode, and if the drone is flying without problems. The remote is amazing, simply one of the best drone remotes I have ever used. The small LED screen at the bottom with indicator lights is so useful as it tells you the status of your drone. For example, it tells you what speed you are on, whether or not you are in headless mode, if you are in flip mode, if the drone is connected. The controls and remote itself are very ergonomically designed which is essential for flying a drone. You don’t want to be worrying about the pain in your hand when you should be paying attention to the drone! Put simply, the remote is amazing. It is a very responsive drone and overall really great. I would totally recommend to a friend, especially at the price point.

I owe DJI my livelihood. Seriously, my ROI from their products is like 50k percent or something like that.

They never disappoint. This is already my fourth drone, third one from DJI. For me, they are the best brand out there. I use the Mavic mini for places that have more restrictions, but mainly use the Mavic Air.

My first drone was the Skydio R1, which I sold about a year ago. It was my first and biggest mistake, honestly. Too expensive and I never got to use most of the custom coding flight modes and other advanced features in any way.

But now that I’ve got the Mavic Air 2, I couldn’t be more satisfied.

In the drone world, 4k is actually a standard but now it shoots at 60 fps too. This allows me to slow down my footage up to 30-40 percent (very ideal for making hyperlapse videos). By the way, you could shoot hyperlapses in 8k with this drone.

I used this mainly for bird’s eye footage of rural properties. Did you know that this is the only model that allows you to shoot 240 fps at 1080p? It allowed me to play around with slow motion like never before, but coupled with the POI 3.0 feature and Adobe premier, I was able to create very dramatic footage of houses, beach houses, even islands.

POI 3.0 is essentially a feature that enables the drone to automatically orbit a particular structure or large object (in my case, a house). Really really cool. It helps a lot in enticing online real estate clients.

What’s even more impressive is that this drone lasts 34 minutes. With the new Ocusy nc 2.0, it allows me to shoot at 10km range, which I actually put to the test while will head to north of Los Angeles to the desert (see the attached screenshot). They’re not lying. I also tested the ActiveTrack feature, which basically made the drone follow us from a bird’s eye point of view while driving 30 miles per hour (not really useful for my real estate footage but it was so much fun that we gave it a spin).

For me, the weight is perfect, it’s fairly light yet not too light that it blows off, which is actually my biggest issue with the Mavic mini, is that the wind makes the footage a little shaky.

The Mavic Air 2 is also quite portable. For such a powerhouse, it’s pretty small, just teeny bit bigger than the Mavic Air. And I’m not just talking about the drone but also the other components. This is what I like about DJI. They always try to optimize every part, down to the charges and adapters, everything gets a little smaller. Not only that, but for every new release, they always tweaked just enough that you feel like you’re not stuck in the past. Like they pay attention to every bit of detail. Even the Mavic mini had some improvements over the Mavic Air despite being a more low-end drone. I just love that kind of dedication to a product.

I’ve been wanting a drone for quite a while and I’m so happy I waited for this gem. Produces great quality and captures nice photos! Was pretty impressed with it considering I’m a beginner at flying! Definitely gonna need an extra battery.

Incredible. For all those wondering “what’s the difference in the original Mavic mini and the Mini 2?” The mini 2 basically just improved everywhere the original lacked. The things that are notable are Ocusync 2, 4K video, big increase in wind resistance, and quick shots. As well as longer flight time and stronger propellor motors.

Compared to the Mavic Air 2, they both have the same range, same quickshot modes, and both shoot 4K. If you don’t need obstacle avoidance and 48mp photos then go Mavic mini 2 all the way.
You’re paying an extra $600 on the air for 48mp photos and obstacle avoidance, but with that said the camera on the mini 2 has great sharpness and contrast. You will NOT go wrong with this!
For $600, this drone is a steal. Buy it, you will not regret it!

As an avid photographer who is new to aerial photography, I am delighted with the DJI Mini 2. It is easy to fly--I even took it out over water on my first flight, although briefly and controlled in Cine mode. Despite the small, compact size, it is surprisingly stable and takes sharp images, even in some wind.

The controls are responsive and set up is intuitive and plug-and-play while still providing numerous options for customization.

As a first drone, this is a winner. I am happy with this purchase and highly recommend this product.

How to make a child and grown up very happy!this is a very fun toy to have and play with, the image from this camera y 720, perfect and very clear, I love that this drone is fold-able, so I can take it from one place to the other by taking only little room!

This is a great little drone! I love that it is foldable and compact. We did have to watch a few youtube videos to get a better idea of how to use it, but that's not a big deal. I will say the phone holder on the remote is not for big bulky phones. My husband's phone wouldn't fit, but my son's smaller phone does and it was his gift anyway. The grips for the phone are a pain as you have to awkwardly hold them out and try to put the phone in at the same time. I wish there was a way to lock them in the out position then release them once you laid the phone in. However, for the money and for a pre-teen this drone is perfect. It is easier to control and flies way better than many other drones in the same price range.

The HS110G from Holy Stone came with a nice zipper carrying case with all the accessories needed, including 2 batteries and extra props. Startup was the same as the other drones, you have to pair the remote, calibrate the gyro, then register GPS signal. The initialization of this drone is probably the fastest I've seen yet, I was able to take off within 2 minutes of popping in the battery cartridge.

With GPS locked in, the drone will maintain its location within roughly a square meter area, no matter the wind directions. I can't even deal with drones that don't have GPS anymore, it is a must-have feature. The camera mounted underneath is removable, but no adjustable positioning, the camera only points straight forward, but is wide-angle enough to catch almost any view.

After a mix-up and a collision with a garden fence, the drone seemed to struggle maintaining balance during the next flight. I was concerned but then did a recalibration of the gyro and it performed much better, so it's important to remember to recalibrate during any hard landing or crash.

Return to home seemed to behave differently, as most other drones rise up high to avoid obstacles, then navigate to home position, then drop down. This one maintained its current altitude, then slowly navigated and lowered to the starting point. This one has a unique button that can do an emergency power kill mid-flight. I didn't try it, but supposedly it will shut down the props and the unit just free-falls, perhaps a good safety-net with some of the reports of GPS flaking out in similar drone models and losing control of the drone.

All in all this was a fun drone to play with and a good starter drone for the beginner!

I have a couple drones and other RC products. The Holy Stone HS110G stands out as one of the best I have flown. If you are interested in buying a drone or upgrading, please read this review. I will cover all the highlights of this drone. First, like some of the best products made, the packaging usually reflects the quality of the product. The HS110G comes in a perfect designed and well padded case for storage and transport. I actually have never seen a well designed case for an inexpensive product like this. It protects the drone, and is easy to keep things stored. I have considerable experience in the plastics industry. The HS110G drone is made from very durable quality plastic that can take an impact without breaking. The fit and finish is comparable to drones costing many times more. It is obviously engineered by a team that designs state of the art aesthetics with the best materials and functions. Both the controller and drone are robust. The controller has a great feel with a quality weight, not a cheap toy. So, how does it perform? I set it up first indoors. The instructions are clear and written with great visuals. I took extra care indoors. If this is your first drone, just tether the landing gear with string and a weight if you want to learn to hover and the controls. If outside just follow instructions and fly it. Easy! I took it outside with winds around 5 mpg with gusts, and flew it around the yard.Great Fun & Wow, stable and speeds adjusting from low to fast, for beginner to advanced. I really totally impressed. I went up to max saltitude and watched the sunsets and the next day sunrise. Very cool. I took a few images and videos. The camera resolution outperforms my other drones. Crisp and clear photo and video. Great to capture stunning vacation shots you could not get without a drone. I tested the follow me feature, auto take off and land, everything worked great. A real test is to see if a drone comes home if something unexpected happens. I sent the drone at high altitude towards the woods. It disappeared at great distance. I actually thought I lost it. A minute or so later it came right back and landed. I was totally amazed. So, if you want a high quality drone that is affordable, easy and fun to fly with a camera and all the needed features, the Holy Stone HS110G is the one to buy.
