This was really helpful in figuring out what all of the feet I got for my machine that came with my walking foot. I had no idea there were such things, but it was cheaper to get the walking foot I needed for my quilt in a kit than alone. I tried a few of the feet, but wasn't getting good results until I looked at the book for how to use the foot. I made a beautiful hem on a silk like fabric thanks to the instructions in this book.
It definitely helped me take my sewing to the next level. I used to just use the foot that originally came on the machine.
I own a couple of dozen books on machine quilting and this is the first one I have seen that truly warrants the name complete. It has lots of useful tips I have never seen in other quilting books such as how to resize quilting motifs and how to jump from one part of a motif to another when quilting. It is also very well illustrated with drawings and photographs in color. It only has a few quilting designs but there are many other books of quilting designs available if that is what you are looking for.
Beautifully structured, clearly written book, with stunning (and useful) photos. I have found this book extremely helpful: I am at the stage in my quilting journey where I know how to put together a basic quilt-top, and am particularly interested in how to machine-quilt it. This book is IDEAL for this (it has some bits and pieces about piecing which are useful, but that's not the focus of the book). It's full of ideas and has some really AMAZING tips on how to start basic free-motion quilting (I made some successful trial runs at this the very first time I tried, based ONLY on these instructions) and there is a lot more here that I haven't tried yet that I think will be very useful as I develop. If you're going to buy one machine quilting book this should be it. Heaps of information on thread, different feet for your machine, how to get the tension right, as well as heaps of working instructions at different levels and lots of inspiration. Absolutely helpful, and a pleasure to browse and read.

I now have the book plus the templates required to make the quilts. This was an expensive book, I love the quilts within but do think the price was a bit on the high side. The book is quite heavy, printed on quality heavy paper. I am eager to dive into old scraps and make the quilt pictured on the front.

This book is filled with great patterns. Seems like a lot of times I buy a pattern book for 2 or 3 patterns, and the rest I never use…..that is not the case with this book. It will be the opposite. Great patterns, instructions and ideas. All quilters need this book, because if you are like me, you have plenty of scrap fabrics that need to be used!
