Despite the negative reviews, I got this toilet seat. My dad said it was easy to install and secure. So far the hinges that hold it have stayed put. To address the issue about the toilet seat changing color, that’s not the toilet seats problem. If you google it, it’s a condition called Chromhidrosis that people have that makes your sweat react with certain service bacteria. Causing the toilet seat to turn blue or purple. About the comfort level, I have multiple herniated disks in my lower back and this relieves the pressure so I can sit comfortably. If you are a very heavy person, I can see how maybe it wouldn’t be enough cushion for you. You do sit a little higher up, which was a concern of mine because I already have to put my feet on a stool given I’m short. But it’s only a couple of inches higher so not really a big deal. Have you checked out the prices of other toilet seats? They’re like 40 and above for price. This is a good deal. I’m not sure how long it will last, but will update my review if anything changes.
