Top 10 Best Nursery Rhyme Book

1. Mother Goose Treasury: A Beautiful Collection of Favorite Nursery Rhymes for Children (Hardcover Storybook Treasury)

Reviews from Real Users
I love this book; however, there are about three stories that are difficult for me to read to my children just because they have the word pu$$y instead of saying pussycat. I don’t use this word and I surely don’t want my kids going around saying this word. I posted pictures of it and circled it. I actually ripped this story out of their book so that they won’t want me to read it to them. Other than that, I would highly recommend this book to everyone who has children! I caught my daughter signing one of the songs in the book today while on our way home so they definitely pay attention! Some of the rhymes/songs even have hand motions so that you can teach your kids how to dance to certain songs.
I ordered two of these books for Christmas gifts and was delighted to discover how wonderful this anthology is. First of all, it includes all the classic nursery rhymes, beautifully and humorously illustrated. Each rhyme has its own page--no crowding. It's good size (8x10 inches) and a beautifully made book. The paper is high quality and best of all the book lies flat when opened. It's a pleasure to handle. Includes an index of first lines so you can easily find the rhyme the child is asking for. Highly recommended. I wish every toddler could have the experience of being read these verses--out of this book!
I bought this book for one of my 4 grandsons. I flipped through it before wrapping it and was pleased with everything about it. Good quality, good illustrations and the original mother goose rhymes. a true classic, but some pretty hard core content in many of them if you stop to think about what they say. I believe there is value in learning the classic literature, beginning with the nursery rhymes. We learned them when we were kids and we grew up just fine. Everyone liked it so much that I bought one for another of my grandsons.

This is the same book (same version, same publishing year) that was gifted to me when I was seven-years-old and I am pumped to have found it.
When I was a child, adults did not read to children like we do now because adults and children lived mostly separate lives, coming together for meals, church, chores (but only if children needed help while we learned to do our chores), and that was about it because adults were busy and we children didn’t want to hang out with adults! We read on our own for entertainment. Especially in second and third grades, I spent hours every day reading the rhymes, laughing, and examining the illustrations in this book. I loved it so much that 55 years later, remembering its specific illustrations is what helped me identify the version I'd owned.
I’ve been looking for this specific version for years, but now that I have grandchildren, I stepped-up my efforts. Although some of my daughter’s friends stridently disapprove of Mother Goose, as an historian, I disagree with them entirely and put my daughter on notice that my grandchildren would also enjoy Mother Goose rhymes and illustrations, just as I did, both of my children did, and as my son enjoyed my reading Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn to him. They are important as they pass on understanding of historical cultural and literary references, provide insight into historical class and cultural differences and issues, and they are entertaining. As long as each of the rhymes are introduced at ages they can be explained to children, children are not damaged by them in any way.
This version has many more rhymes than contemporary versions contain, and a number of them are antiquated, which makes me love the book that much more. As an adult, some of the rhymes amuse me so much I laugh out-loud. The rhymes that are inappropriate by contemporary cultural standards and those that poke fun at the rich and class conflicts are the ones that really amuse me.
The book is as described, arrived in good condition, and arrived in a timely manner, all for a fair price. I am very satisfied.
My siser bought this book for my first-born son, remembering our own love of "Mother Goose". When he grew up and began his family we to our great delight we found the same book for his children. Now he has a new grandson (great-grand, for me) so I set out to find a Mother Goose, of course. Imagine my total joy to discover that "The Real Mother Goose" is in its seventy-fifth year of publication! Since my son is age 74, that means that my sister must have purchased an early copy. So now my son will read to his grandson from the book that was so much a part of his own toddlerhood.
My grandmother used to read this to my cousins and I when we were kids... I do not remember the rhymes being this weird. Ha ha. Holy s*** batman. I got this for my daughters (one is 19 months, the other is due in May), so I could share a little piece of my childhood with them. When it arrived, I got nostalgic and opened it. The cover and pictures seem a lot brighter than I remember, but then, our copy growing up was soo beat up. They brought back a lot of magic, and I can't wait for my girls to see them. That being said, the rhymes are a kind of twisted nonsensical sing song that I'm almost afraid to read to my kids.
I'm totally gonna read this to my kids. 😀

6. 101 Nursery Rhymes & Sing-Along Songs for Kids

Reviews from Real Users
I am a 62 year old grandmother, and this is the Best book, I've bought so far, for my grandchildren!! It has every Nursery Rhyme from when I was little as well as the ones we used to say and read to our 3 children! Any mother or grandmother today will recognize at least 80% of these Nursery Rhymes and there are So Many of them, too!! My son and his wife who are 35, just love this Book for their baby twins!! These are all the Nursery rhymes we all grew up with and more! You'll love it, I know!
A delightful and thorough collection of childhood rhymes/classic songs, many of which today’s grandparents’ own grandparents likely knew as well. The Kindle version its colorful and clear. Take note that, while these are presented as a sing-along, the book does not provide melodies. Those, however, are generally known or accessible.
PS Some reviewers discount the book as not being what they had in mind for their little ones. Not the fault of the book! It is exactly what it purports to be. Well worth the money, and more.
My son-in-law and daughter are reading it to our 8 month old grandson. I think they are refreshing their memories of the nursery rhymes. I know I read and play them with our daughter. It is fun to know she is sharing them with her son.

What a fantastic book! It feels way more expensive than what I paid for. This is a great bedtime book, I have a 10 year old daughter, and a 4 year old daughter. And I can read this book to both of them. Its a beautiful, strong, massive book. I highly recommend i 🙂
The price of this book is a steal!! I honestly can’t believe it was so cheap for what you get. It is quite possibly one of the best books I’ve ever bought my children for the quality of the book and the quantity of stories. It has so many nursery rhymes, songs, fairy tales, and fables all wrapped up in one amazing book. The book is a nice padded cover, the pages are thick, glossy and sturdy, and it has a ribbon book mark. Don’t hesitate to buy this fantastic book. Going forward this book will be the first thing I buy when I need to buy a baby shower gift. Every child needs to know the classic nursery rhymes, riddles, songs, and stories. This is a must buy!!!
Purchased as a gift. Very cute, very high quality book! The pictures don't show it, but the type on the cover is metallic gold and is a beautiful touch over the deep silky purple. The cover of this book even feels amazing! Nice, hardy, sturdy book. The illustrations are very appealing to children and adults, just great! Thick, quality glossy pages. Wide variety of stories that won't get stale. I can't suggest this book enough!
8. Favorite Nursery Rhymes from Mother Goose

it's hard to pick out ONE collection of MG. every collection misses one of my favorite rhymes. but THIS book? THIS book is so beautifully illustrated, and the font is so excellent, and the feel of the page is superb. it's a collector's dream. i bought this book twice now as gifts to my grandchildren so their mothers could read out loud while pregnant with them. the book is worthy of many future generations and i can see that i will be making this my baby shower gift for other babies in years to come.
My family enjoys checking this book out from our local library. We like it so much we have started giving it as a birthday gift. The illustrations are inventive and captivating. I especially like that the children appearing in the illustrations represent multiple races and ethnicities. I highly recommend this for enjoying classic nursery rhymes and as a way to expand a library of multicultural childrens books. In our school district, testing kids on nursery rhymes is used to assess English language skills at kindergarten registration. That strikes me as odd because kids being raised in houses where English is not the first language likely have parents who do not know these classic rhymes. Parents and children will enjoy learning them together with this book.
I bought this book for my grand nephews because I love the style of the illustrations by Scott Gustafson. The book is quite large compared to most children's books today, so it makes a great book for a reading to several children at one time. I hope it will be a classic book they will treasure over the years.
9. My First Book of Nursery Rhymes – Padded Board Book – Classics

Reviews from Real Users
I bought this for my 10 month old granddaughter who loves when I read her books with lots of bright colors she actually tries grabbing the pics. Keeping my fingers crossed she will love books when she grows up. Till then I keep on reading to her.
Board books are perfect for my child since she is only 3. The illustrations are nice and simple. What I mean by this is their isn’t a lot of text or distracting images making it easier for my 3 year old to focus on the words and rhymes. Well the best a 3 year old can for her age and attention span. This book is helping her to expand her vocabulary. Good value for the price, I would recommend it.
This is a great book to have. My goddaughter is 7 1/2 months old and she really enjoys this book. I sometimes read the rhymes, and other times I will sing them and act them out. She really stares at the pages and it seems to really captivate her. Thank you so much. Very attractive and print is easy to read. I am very satisfied with the purchase.
10. Read to Your Baby Every Day: 30 classic nursery rhymes to read aloud (Stitched Storytime)

Reviews from Real Users
This book is literally sooooo gorgeous, not to mention fun to read through! It's filled with a ton of classic nursery rhymes that you can read to baby. Each page is beautifully designed with a custom embroidered piece (note: the pages are not actually embroidered -it's just scans of the design). It's so aesthetically pleasing that it makes it an enjoyable read both for baby and for the parent!
I love it so much that I don't even care that there's a typo on one of the rhymes (bummer). There's an error in Mary had a Little Lamb. Wish that was fixed, but it's okay. I currently read this to my 3.5 month old and he always has a great time. I'm not much of a singer but reading these nursery rhymes helps it feel like I can read these to him in a sing-songy way, and he has a blast.
I love that it also serves as a little reminder to read to your baby every day. 😉 It'd be a beautiful addition to any nursery.
The pictures are wonderful, and I enjoy sharing the classic nursery rhymes with my grandchild.
Beautiful book for a new baby.
