What Is The Best Gps Tracker For Dogs No Monthly Fee

I’m not a paid reviewer, I bought this device for my Border Collie as she’s seriously bad about going across the road to the BLM chasing deer. We live out on land. Yes you really should take it off and charge it at night because it’s working hard all day connecting to the GPS, but the main point here is that is WORKS. Every time she exists her 100 yard radius I get a notification almost instantly on my iPhone and I’m pretty sure it goes off around her neck as within like 60 seconds I get a second notification she’s back in the leash perimeter. I was able to record my voice saying “Come” which totally freaks her out and sends her running right back towards the house every time even recently when it rained despite all the negative Amazon reviews that said it doesn’t work in bad weather. It does for us, just great. I also love the remote control too as there have been a few times she didn’t turn right around after exiting the perimeter that I pushed the button on the remote and then she definitely turned her behind around running back towards home. Maybe others are not charging each night. I do as I want to make sure it works during the day. This device has really helped us. I had tried top expensive wireless fence products and they SUCK. This device is a total lifesaver, it’s seemed to be durable so far and keeps my Border Collie on my property without have to install a $50,000 no climb fence. So, yes, I highly recommend this! Thank you to the engineer who made this, it’s easy to use and it works great, field testing in Montana on lots of land.

I wanted to add that it’s been several times upgraded since the initial review! It actually shows real time as the cat moves and I can see which direction my cat is moving toward. It’s convenient when I want to go out to get the cat back home. It also has a cat category now so my cat is registered as a cat, not as a beagle anymore. I noticed that they keep upgrading the firmware of the device, and I love the added features- the radar and and almost real time tracking. It also shows hot spots- where my cat likes to hang out the longest- too. It has improved many ways that benefit cat owners. Thank you!

We live in suburban town. My cat was a stray, now lives in our garage. He goes out in the morning, and comes back home by 4-5 pm before sun goes down. He is about 11.5 lbs and he’s quite active.

The device is slightly bigger than I would have liked, but my cat doesn’t seem bothered by it.

It picks up the signal 80percent of time, but then it goes offline( red dot), which I assume because my cat got under a deck or something.

When it works, it’s fantastic! I saw that my cat was on route to home, and it said he was at my home, so I opened the door to garage and here he just walked into the garage!

I like how it shows its daily trails. It gives me a peace of mind to know where my cat is about. He was a stray, and is happiest when he is getting some free time outside. I’ve been looking for/using other tracking devices and this one is the best so far!

To companay: you gotta update the app to add a cat. Currently my cat is registered as a beagle and it’s not fair.

I received this GPS tracker in the mail a couple days ago and I am impressed with the quality of the devices. The app is easy to install and use and I didn’t have any issues syncing the tracker and receiver to my phone via Bluetooth.
I was excited about this product because my dog likes to run the neighborhood and we live in a rural wooded area.
So far I’m disappointed that the tracker seems to loose connection super easily. It’s done it while I’ve been in my house with the receiver and outside while I’ve still got eyes on my dog. I’m not sure why it is loosing connection. The device is fully charged.

UPDATE: I almost returned, but I really wanted it to work for our situation. I've decided to keep it because after shrinking the safety zone around our house, it seems to work better. The receiver wouldn't loose connection with the tracker before my dog went out of the "Geo-fence". Our house is situated in the middle of 15 wooded acres and our dog is allowed to go outside without being on a leash or inside a fenced in area. He sometimes would wander off and visit neighbors and be back before I knew he was even gone. So basically I wanted something to allow me to be a lazy dog owner (guilty).

By shrinking the geo-fence around my house, the app was able to notify me when he roamed beyond the safety zone. I went outside and pushed the button to activate the recording I made on the tracker and my dog came running! The tracker and receiver did disconnect a couple times when he went to lie under our greenhouse to get out of the heat (he's a husky mix) his favorite napping spot. Also, I was also able to put the receiver outside on the porch railing and have my phone inside with me, the bluetooth connection didn't seem to have trouble staying connected. I also think this would work great when going on hikes with him too.

UPDATE 9/23/19: NOT waterproof. We went on kayaking on the river and my dog swam with the tracker attached to his collar. We tried to position it on the top of his neck, but he must have gone under enough to get the tracker wet. Unfortunately, the tracker has stopped working even after drying out. So far I've been unable to reach the company to get a replacement tracker. I was able to contact Petfon tech support with no trouble and was able to purchase a new tracker.

Let me just first say that I didn’t buy this to use on a computer but rather as a model car if you will- just to hang out on a shelf and look at. With that being said, I can’t speak of its functionality as a mouse but as a physical 1:43 scale car it looks amazing, I mean it’s as nice as any model in my collection of mini Lamborghinis including the packaging. The box has several windows which to view the product. The cars details are sharp and clean. I’d highly recommend this mouse to car enthusiasts as a “wall hanger”. In that respect Amazon’s photo doesn’t do the car any justice. For a car model at this price you can’t go wrong and it won’t appear cheap beside more expensive items like Di’agostino, Edicola, etc.

The device itself is flawless. I feared it might be a "toy" without the usability of a "real" mouse. Took it out of the case, installed the single battery, put the USB transceiver in the correct slot and my little Lambo was off and pointing/clicking! It fits nicely in my hand and we're very comfortable together. The unexpected side-effect was all the attention it gets from both men and women whenever I pull it out of my computer bag.

Our indoor/outdoor cat is super friendly, free ranging, and out EVERY day, regardless of the temperature or weather outside. We had our phone number on her collar and we'd get calls from all over town. We needed something to keep track of her and did an extensive search for an appropriate GPS device. This one really works! We have peace of mind knowing where she is when we look for her (evening for instance), we have been able to look for her and find her when she hasn't come home, and the range is outstanding. The remote activated light and audio recording feature are super helpful if you are looking for your pet. We've been using it for about a month and really hope it lasts!

This product is extremely easy to set up and use. It took less than 5 min to download the app, connect to blue tooth and begin using. I have a 200 acre recreation property and my 2yr old bird dog has a tendency to want to run off into the woods when she catches scent of an animal. I used to have to ride around on my 4 wheeler yelling her name to eventually find her. Now, I simply pull the app up on my phone an instantly can see where she is. We are loving our tracker for our cat Frank! When he returned after missing for a few days, we knew we wanted a pet tracker. The problem was, most trackers needed you to pay a monthly fee. This was the only tracker we could find without that monthly fee and we have not been disappointed! We have loved knowing where our little buddy is when he hasn’t check in for a while. Also, when Frank lost his tracker and we were not able to find it, the company was quick to respond and very helpful with getting a replacement. For sure recommend!

Not only is this life enhancing device visually sleek and silky, but it will save you hours of time each year. If you often find yourself in a hurry to go somewhere, but your best amigo is always out of site and rummaging somewhere through the bushes, then this tracker is for you. Additionally, you can finally enjoy your precious time outside because your phone always has a lock on your dog with or without cellular signal. Before I purchased this little gem, I leaned on my sense of intuition to track and locate my dog when he chased off a deer or a jack rabbit. Since I have a roamer as my best friend, my spidey senses weren’t often enough. In many instances, my dog and I have been separated in the woods and desert for hours at a time. This is NOT the best feeling because I’m a dental student and I don’t have time for a good ole fashion track and chase scene. If you love the outdoors just as much as you love your best friend, then please get this device.

After almost a full month of using this product paired with additional two trackers in varying conditions from heavy rain to snow to areas with no cell reception I have come to the conclusion this is a amazing gps for pets. What I like most is that these trackers and controllers do not need a cell signal to work, they’ll even work with airplane mode on. There’s the option which I partially like in the settings that it can be set to track at 10, 30 or 60 second intervals. The time connection between the phone, controller and trackers is quick averaging less than 30 seconds. The charging box is another huge plus since the charging box has its own internal battery and can charge the controller and trackers without a usb outlet if needed. The distance on the app feature is sometimes not correct but the map on the app can clarify that issue when it arises. No gps is 100% exact on accurate anyways. The third feature I like in the app with the trackers is the ability to download offline maps. The maps in standard view have contour lines similar to a USGS map. The contour intervals are 10 meters apart which also helps determine the distance of the pet. Once a day I charge the trackers and controllers for about 2 hours each day and that’s enough to get through 24 hours easily on the pets. I could go on and on but in the end it’s a amazing gps set up and comforting the pets have a way to be tracked.

I’ve had this tracker for a few days and tried it in the woods and on the beach in NJ, with one of my dogs. It worked well and gave me peace of mind. The app is easy to use and location was always accurate. The battery lasted quite long as I did not have to face the need to charge during our outings. The design is nice and all looks quite sturdy. I really like the light option as it is very useful in the dark and the “ringtones” have my dog wondering wth is going on and snap out of what she is doing like tracking (and not listening to me), though, most of time it was not strong enough for me to hear it in the distance. I’m happy with the product as it does what I need it to do. I wish I could save the number of steps and distance history but that would just be a bonus.

After having some tools stolen and owning one of these for my drone, I purchased another to hide in a box that I thought might be next - at 10:30 pm it started moving, it tracked all night and the next morning the police and I went to the location and the thief was arrested and still in jail !!!

Nice accurate product. The best feature is its small size and thickness. The worst feature is very poor battery life. The battery only lasts about 24 hrs. Very good customer service

I bought this tracker so I could keep tabs on my independent, elderly mother who doesn't have a smart phone.
I downloaded the app to my smart phone and easily set up the tracker with her information. Once I set it up in the app, I took the tracker to her house and finalized setting it up outside of her house (as the instructions indicate). Then I simply shut it in the small carrying case and attached it to her key ring. In the app, I was able to attach a picture of her to the tracker and add her home address. Then, I selected notifications for it to let me know when she left home and when she arrived at home. You can add as many locations to track as you'd like and it will send notifications for as many places as you set up. I don't want to track her every move; however, this does allow you that option as well. At any time, when I know she's not at home, I can look on the map to see where she is. It also lets me how much battery life is left on her tracker, so I know when to have her plug it in and recharge. The tracker cover also has an SOS button on the front of it. So, if there's an emergency, she can simply hold the button in until it beeps. It will then send me an automatic text message that says she needs help right away. Then, I can pull up the map and see exactly where she's at and get help to her ASAP. It has given me the comfort and peace of mind to be able to know that she's safe when she's out on the road. I would recommend this tracker to anyone!!!!!

I have tried many of these devices. I have used the ones that require sim cards & subscription services as well. This little guy is by far the best. SO many cool features. I use mine to track my dog's whereabouts. Can be used quite nicely for people or automobile tracking as well.

User interface is very cool. Map is great and can focus down to a pebble on the street.

Support team is also great. They really get on those bugs and get them fixed ASAP.

We have 2 kids and it's always a concern that we might lose track of them when we travel together. We previously used Jiobit, which wasn't very accurate. Before our recent holiday break we switched it on and it stopped working altogether. I did some research and decided to get a geozilla tracker with a monthly plan. It worked out perfectly. Location sharing is accurate and I could share the device with my family. I could also see other family members on the map. The battery life is great (no charge needed for days), and the device is small, lightweight (my son wore it as a necklace) and secure. After the trip, I cancelled the subscription until we go on a new family trip. Customer service was great and was able to cancel a pending monthly subscription charge for the upcoming second month for me. I highly recommend this product.

This device is very easy to install. You download the app to your phone, follow the instructions, synch the tile, all in about 2 minutes. Once you do that, pushing the button on the tile makes your phone ring, so it works both ways. With the phone, you can find the tile, and with your tile, you can find your phone. The Tile device and app designs are both VERY clever. You can select the tile broadcast sound to be soft or loud from the app on your phone when you are looking for the tile, and I would estimate "loud" is approximately normal conversation level in decibels. But the app is ever cleverer than this! Those of us with hearing loss learn through our testing that not all sound frequencies are affected equally. We can be completely deaf above 2000 Hz, but hear pretty well a sound with a frequency of 1000Hz. What this tile app does is play scales! It starts around middle C I would guess, and then just plays musical scales of increasingly higher frequency, going up more than one octave, perhaps two, and then it just sits there and repeats these scales until you turn it off. The Tile will find the range you can hear if you can hear anything. BUT, EVEN BETTER, a concentric circle visual guide appears on your phone that tells you VISUALLY when you are getting close to or farther from your phone.

I bought and compared the Tile Pro, Mate and Sticker. If you're looking for something to help you find your keys at home the range on all 3 should be more than sufficient unless you live in a mansion. But if you lose your keys somewhere say in a city bar you're gonna want every last meter of range because the signal degrades heavily through old and thick walls. The Pro has the greatest range and in my testing I found that it has just enough punch to reach the sidewalk from inside a small city block, while the Mate and Sticker were very spotty. The Pro is only barely larger and more expensive than the Mate, and I'd say just the peace of mind justifies it. And being unable to recover your keys will be much much more expensive.

On the subject of the user network, Tile's is easily the biggest so you have the greatest chance of getting a location on your belongings if you are out of your personal range. It just doesn't make sense to go with a different company when Tile's hardware is also probably the best too. And apparently a proper GPS tracker of comparable physical size has to be recharged every week or two instead of a battery swap on the tile every YEAR or TWO. And usually requires a subscription. Hope we'll get there someday, but until then Tile's your best bet.

App worked upon installation, but failed to connect 10 minutes later.

I moved closer and closer, until now my phone is right next to the Tile. The app says "Your Tile is nearby. Hold on for a few seconds while we connect." I have been in this position some five minutes already. The app still cannot connect.

The online automated help facility suggests to reboot the Tile by pressing the button for 10 seconds. That helped. However, trying to connect about two hours later, I still get the same failure.

So, from now on, if I want to find my keys, I must first find the Tile (which is, of course, attached to the keys), reboot it, then attempt to find it via the app. Very useful!

A total waste of money, and a waste of time to debug the app and look for a refund.

I originally gave Tile one star, but I must upgrade my review. I contacted Tile support. A representative named Lottie took the matter seriously, and ended up mailing me a replacement tile. That tile works much better. I still face occasional interminable “Hold on for a few seconds while we connect,” but exiting and reentering the app has solved that every time so far.

I give Tile Support, and Lottie, five stars.

Setup took seconds to get ready as the software is already on the current IOS.

Each person in my family revived a tag including the dog 🙂

I've used Tile, Galaxy Tags, and Airtags, so I this review is based on extensive experience.

For people who have iPhones or iPad, Apple's AirTag is the best finder on the market.

Thanks to UWB technology, AirTag provides precise pinpointing of distance and location. Using iPhones "Find My" app, you'll see an arrow pointing you in the exact direction of your AirTag. It will also and indicate its distance down to how many feet, and when you're really close, how many inch away it is. This UWB feature requires the finder to be in the same home/office/space as you. If you're not in the same area as the AirTag, it's supported by the largest finder network (nearly a billion iPhones active worldwide), so you can find your lost item within most populated cities in the connected modern world!

Below is a list of Common Misunderstandings:

1. The AirTag isn't Loud Enough: Not True! AirTag is plenty loud, but many new users have set it up incorrectly. The AirTag must have the white side exposed since that is the side the speaker projects sound from. Apple's own accessories make sure to expose BOTH the metallic and white sides, but many 3rd party accessories on Amazon feature images with the metal side exposed, but leave the white side obstructed, which looks shiny and nice, but also kills the decibels. AirTags are plenty loud, and the accessories will work fine if you make sure the white side is showing, not the shiny metal side. I expect Apple will address this confusion in future versions of AirTag.

2. My iPhone doesn't show the distance or direction of my AirTag items: In order to use the precise pin-pointing feature that measures in feet/inches and points an arrow at the location, you must have a newer iPhone that supports UWB (all iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 models). This feature also only works if the AirTags are within the same home/office/etc.

3. My AirTags stop working when they are at a remote location. Wait a few more minutes - the AirTag will probably show up on a map soon (once another iPhone user passes by, which eventually happens almost everywhere in cities).

4. I can't find my iPhone from my AirTag: That is true, and it's one feature offered by Tile and Galaxy Tags that AirTag lacks. However, by skipping the ability for AirTags to find your phone, AirTag's have a more solid build (by avoiding the moving parts of a button), and more importantly, have better battery life. You can always use iCloud from any browser, or an Apple Watch or iPad, to find your iPhone.
